When I walk through my back yard, or while mowing it, dozens of small white moths appear. Is this an indication of sod web worm?
The moths are the adult form of the sod webworm. They are harmless to lawns and do not need to be treated. Just because you have the adults in your lawn, does not mean they grew up there. (Adults are very mobile.) If you had young sod webworms in your lawn (which it is too late for) there would be damage: brown areas with the grass blade clipped off close to the soil surface.
