What are Grubs?

Grub is the general name for the larval stage for several different types of beetles. Beetle larvae are known to be especially damaging to lawns. The grubs hatch and grow in the root layer of your lawn. Their favorite activity is to feast on your lawn’s roots – often killing large patches of turf, leaving it brown and easy-to-disconnect from the soil below it. Moreover, grubs are a favorite snack for animals like racoons, skunks and armadillos.  These animals can quickly destroy large areas of your lawn overnight by voraciously digging up the grass looking for grubs.

Grub Control Program

If you can pull up large sections of your sod, or if you find these curly bugs under your turf, you need RYAN’s Grub Control Program. Our treatments can get rid of existing grubs as well as keep new grubs from forming in the future. We also provide grub prevention as part of our RYAN Signature Lawn Care Program, so your lawn remains healthy and pest-free.

Eliminating Additional Lawn Pests

Along with our Grub Control Program, we provide treatments to eliminate other common insects that feed on turfgrass, including armyworms, sod webworms, and chinch bugs. Your RYAN Pro can identify these pests and apply treatments to eliminate them and prevent them from returning.
