Fun Fall Activities in Kansas

Kansas is a great place to be in the fall. As the days shorten and the weather cools off, many people’s minds go to Friday night football games, cider mills, fall festivals, and other fun fall activities.

The staff at Ryan Lawn & Tree have some great fun fall activities that we truly enjoy. Here is a list of some of our favorite things to do in the fall in Kansas.

Scarecrows are a great way to celebrate the arrival of fall.Columbus Day Festival & Hot Air Balloon Regatta – Columbus – October 6-8, 2017

Who doesn’t love the color and excitement surrounding a colorful hot air balloon regatta? Throw in a huge BBQ cook-off, a pancake breakfast for hundreds, a 5K race, a scarecrow contest, a tractor pull, and a car and motorcycle show – all in celebration of Columbus Day! Toward the end of each day the hot air balloons take to the sky in various activities including a race! There are charges for most of the events, but admission to the festival is free.

Oktoberfest – Wichita – October 7, 2017

Taking place on the Quentin Street area of Wichita, this Oktoberfest features family friendly events including rides, games, and inflatables for the kids to play on. Contests and cook-offs are part of the festivities. Then on Saturday, October 14, the Bethel College Fall Festival features sporting events, children’s activities, food, and music, followed by a fall stage production held on the campus of Bethel College on Sunday, October 15.
