Should my tree be removed?

There are a variety of reasons you may want to have your tree removed and the consulting arborist from Ryan Lawn & Tree can help you determine if that is the best option for you. Large trees that have had their tops broken or large damaged limbs can be a danger to people and property. If less than 25% of branches are damaged, it is likely the tree will probably survive. The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) has developed a multi-page risk assessment document that your consulting arborist can complete that outlines many of the following reasons your tree may be removed including:

  • There are signs of infection.
  • Large, dead branches in the tree’s crown.
  • Evidence of root defects.
  • Compromised trunk.
  • Hollow Tree.
  • Sprouts at the base of tree.
