What are Grubs?
Grub is the general name for the larval stage for several different types of beetles. Beetle larvae are known to be especially damaging to lawns. The grubs hatch and grow in the root layer of your lawn. Their favorite activity is to feast on your lawn’s roots – often killing large patches of turf, leaving it brown and easy-to-disconnect from the soil below it. Moreover, grubs are a favorite snack for animals like racoons, skunks and armadillos. These animals can quickly destroy large areas of your lawn overnight by voraciously digging up the grass looking for grubs.
